Walking into a new yoga studio for the first time can feel like a lot — new space, new instructor, new routine. Here’s what we think will actually help, based on the questions we hear most from first-time students.
1. You don’t need to bring anything. Mats and props are provided for drop-in students. Just wear something comfortable and breathable, especially for our heated classes.
2. “Heated” doesn’t mean “advanced.” Classes like FUNdamentally Yoga are specifically designed to be heated but beginner-paced. If you’re nervous about the heat, start there rather than skipping heated classes altogether.
3. Modifications are always offered. Every heated class includes modifications throughout, so you’re never expected to keep up with anyone else in the room — including the person on the next mat who’s been practicing for years.
4. There’s no wrong class to start with. Gentle Yoga, Yin Yoga, and Relax & Restore are all excellent entry points if you want something calmer before working up to our more athletic offerings.
5. Give it more than one class. That’s actually the whole idea behind our New Student Special — your first 30 days for $45. One class tells you very little. A month lets you find your actual rhythm, meet different instructors, and figure out which classes genuinely fit your life.
Ready to start? Come find your practice — we’ll be here to help you along the way.
